This event benefits the Cancer Fund of the Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. This fund supports cancer patients in need of transportation and lodging assistance, nutrition during treatment, and other medical-related needs. The fund provides cancer patients with care bags and radiology robes, supplies for cancer prevention, and educational activities such as free cancer screening events (i.e., colon, skin, breast, and lung cancer). It supports cancer patient peer-to-peer support events like the annual National Cancer Survivors Day Celebration, Camp Bluebird, the area’s only camp for adults with cancer, and the new Get Pampered, Feel Pretty (skin and hair care) quarterly classes for cancer patients. Your sponsorship will allow us to continue advancing the mission of our local healthcare system by improving facilities and services, investing in technology, and supporting efforts that directly impact the lives of our neighbors with cancer.
